One of the finest and most wanted depictions of horror are the ones from and by the videogames; throughout nine generations of consoles and countless titles these platforms have provided what several people consider the most frightening and personal way of experiencing fear.

But, given the fact that through different generations we have been bestowed consoles galore, each with its corresponding cons and pros, which are the ones that rise above the rest as the ones with the best catalogues?

Just to clarify, I am addressing only catalogues and titles; controls and components of the consoles per se will not be taken into account due to the subjectivity sorrounding that regard; however, some of these aspects will be mentioned as mere additional information.


PlayStation (1994)
