Throughout the numerous posts one can find in here I have tried to cover a slight portion of the scope horror has; in order to keep doing so a different type of manifestations and presentations had to be included: psychophonies, EVP and ghost recordings.
Ranking right up there in the horror factor, these recordings are guaranteed to, at least, give you something to be curious about. Try not to check these out in broad daylight; night is assured to make you experience them in a better way.
Mommy?
Place: Madrid, Spain
Year: 1990
Controversial now, as it has been since its release in 1990, this recording found at Palacio de Linares is perhaps the only decent evidence of what several people have allegedly mentioned as occurrences in that very place.
The depiction of a young girl's voice moaning and softly sobbing for her mother can be heard clearly; the recording can be translated as: Mom? Mom? I don't have a mom.
The Hell Psychophony
Place: Madrid, Spain
Year: 1985
The following might be one of the hardest recordings of this type to endure because of its length (approximately 10 minutes) and, of course, what can be heard.
Germán de Argumosa y Valdés is renowned as a legendary researcher, as well as a writer, philosopher and professor; the aforementioned credentials reassure his beliefs about paranormal issues before this recording (such beliefs that were changed by him after it). Where was it recorded? In a library of a friend of his.
Here you can listen to four minutes out of the ten it lasts (I could not post the full version); please do ignore the images in the video because they diminish the scare factor. I attach what I consider to be one of the highlights of the recording as well.
The Enfield Poltergeist
Place: Enfield, England
Year: 1977
Provided The Conjuring 2 got something right out of the actual events, it was the name of the individuals involved (dead and alive); the case was not as outlandish as the movie depicted, but it was certainly scarier and more interesting.
The whole case is worth-checking, nonetheless, the recording obtained while interacting with the poltergeist (Bill Wilkins speaking) has to be the scariest and most iconic part of the evidence gathered (alongside the pictures of Janet levitating in her bedroom).
The Sounds Of Hell
Place: Siberia, Russia
Year: 1989
More than three decades ago Russian researchers and scientists bored a massive hole in Siberia which reached depths of approximately 14.4 km.
The temperature there was also something to be impressed about becaused it got to more than 1000 °C. In order to gather important information for the project, a microphone was lowered deep into the hole; the great majority of the crew refused to keep working on the project after that and the hole was welded-shut. Why? The following recording answers that question in detail.
Body Of A Pig
Place: Unknown (mentioned as secret)
Year: Unknown (allegedly 2000's)
This EVP recording is one of the most known all around internet. The psychophony is scary per se, but the video, though short, is unsettling too (not to mention the picture at the very end).
It gave birth to even creepypastas and a cult of followers that create very interesting conceptual art regarding the nuance of the recording.
Nibaldo
Place: Valparaíso, Chile
Year: 2018
The case around this psychophony is scarier than the recording itself, but the entirety of what was collected makes it up to earn a spot in the list.
Nibaldo Villegas was a Chilean professor who was murdered by his former couple and her, then, current boyfriend. He went missing for a couple of days before people recorded his torso floating in the vicinity of the Prat's dock.
A renowned Chilean TV channel was broadcasting the coverage of what had happened when what seems to be Nibaldo speaking can be heard uttering the lines: They found me and they killed me.
Feel free to skip through the video and get to the 1:49 mark if you just want to listen to the psychophony.
Non-dimensional
Place: Spain
Year: Not stated (sometime in the 70's/80's)
This recording is highly-renowned among the subject enthusiasts. Sinesio Darnell is a household name in the area; among his several recordings the answer of a question he had stands out as the most unnerving .
He asked for the origin of these voices captured in the recordings and the answer can be found in the video. It is rather frightening how clear the voice can be heard and the tone it emanates.
Imaginary Friend
Place: Mexico City, Mexico
Date: 2007
This one is particularly creepy given the fact that I normally teach young people (mostly children at preschool and elementary school) and have heard quite a few stories in regard to imaginary friends.
The recording was obtained during an interview carried out in a preschool. The interviewer aim was addressing the girl with questions. Nevertheless, the imaginary friend gets in the middle before and after its existence is mentioned.
On The Other Side Of Death
Place: Spain
Year: Not stated
There is not a lot of information available for the following recording. What needs to be highlighted is the fact that its existence took place during a very essential part of the protocol of collection of this type of recordings.
The researcher asked the voices to state their identity. This particular information was not explicitly given; instead, the voices seem to have mentioned where they came from.
The First One
Place: Sweden
Year: 1959
Friedrich Jürgenson, besides being a very competent musician and cinema producer, was a pioneer in the usage of EVP (although the purpose leaned towards other areas).
During the recording of a documentary which required him to go out into the woods to record animal sounds, Friedrich stumbled upon the very first psychophony; it played the voice of his deceased mother; her voice depicted anguish and mentioned his name asking if he could hear her.
